watermark_size documentation not clear

The documentation of the watermark_size option for the /image/resize robot is not entirely clear to me. It states “Optional. The size in percent for this watermark. E.g. “50%”.”

What is this size measured against? What does 100%?

Say, my watermark-PNG is 200x100px and the image I’m resizing is 1200x900. Will setting the watermark_size = 50% result in a 100x50px watermark? And what if I resize the original image to 600x450? Will then watermark_size = 50% still result in a 100x50px watermark?

The reason I’m asking is: I want to supply a hi-res png as a watermark so it won’t look blurry even on the highest resolution images I want to store. But still I don’t want the watermark to be become to big.

How would you suggest to handle that? Maybe updating the documentation will just point me into the right direction…

Hey Christoph,

the percentage is related to the dimensions of any resized pic. For example if one resized version was 600x400px and you had a watermark_size of 20%, the watermark would be 120x80px big.

Kind regards,
Tim
