Merging files

Is it possible to merge 2 or more files (of the same format) into a single encoded file?

No, currently the only file merging we are doing is applying watermarks to images / videos. I assume you’re talking about combining two videos into one, but that is currently not possible.

Ok, I had asked a similar question in another thread regarding creating slideshows. Basically, I have a situation where I have files like this:

1.mpg (10 secs) - no audio just video of a static image
2.mpg (22 secs) - no audio just video of a static image
3.mpg (15 secs) - no audio just video of a static image
audio.mp3 (47 secs)

I’d like to create a single video file (MP4/h264) that is 47 secs in length, with the video track being the *.mpg files (appened/joined back to back) and the audio track being the audio.mp3 file.

Would something like this be at all possible with your service?

Thanks.

Hey jjones,

unfortunately, this is currently not possible. : /

However, if more people ask for this we could certainly look into implementing this. We could also check out a possible situation where you pay for the development of the feature. Would you be interested in that?

Kind regards,
Tim

Closing this for now. Let me know if you are still interested in this.

we are going to support this very soon.

Are you still interested in this?

Hi
Sorry If I am posting in a wrong place.
I am a web app developer and trying to create an app which mixes a watermark audio file to the user uploaded audio file. The watermark audio has to be repeated throughout the user’s audio file.
Can this be fulfilled with your service?
Could you please explain the steps that I have to do?
My app is hosted in heroku with nodejs.
Thanks & regards
Manu

Hi Manu,

we may want to use our Heroku addon: https://addons.heroku.com/transloadit

Then you can use our /video/merge robot to generate a video from an image and an audio file. Please the robot documentation here along with a demo here: https://transloadit.com/docs/conversion-robots#video-merge

Please let me know if that helps.

Kind regards,

Hi Tim,

It is about merging two audio files and getting an audio output.

There will be a small audio file.
This has to be repeated to the length of the main audio file.
Volume of this should be very low as a background to the main audio file.

The output audio contains the main audio file with the background voice repeated till the end of it.

So I need apis for

  1. To loop the audio to a given length
  2. To merge the audio files one with a reduced sound level.

Do you have any such apis? Is there any sample implementations for this available?

Thanks & Regards
Manu

Hey Manu,

unfortunately we do not support this yet. But we’d like to support it.

In order for us to prioritize this feature could you please tell us about your projected monthly volume for us?

Kind regards,
Tim
