# Did Transloadit go through a security assessment to integrate Companion with Google Drive?

According to [Google’s documention](https://support.google.com/cloud/answer/9110914?hl=en#zippy=%2Csecurity-assessment), if Drive files are accessed from/through a server (such as Companion), the app must undergo an independent security assessment estimated to cost $15000-$75000.

This seems pretty ridiculous for a company providing a useful open source project to the community. Did Transloadit have to bite the bullet, or are they exempt for some reason? Or am I reading it wrong or misunderstanding how Companion works?
